Kia Announces All-Star Partnership with Blake Griffin

Kia Motors expanded its sports marketing portfolio with a multi-year partnership with Blake Griffin, the 2010-11 T-Mobile NBA Rookie of the Year and one of the most exciting young players in professional basketball.  Griffin, who famously leaped over an Optima to win the 2011 Sprite Slam Dunk competition earlier this year, will serve as a global spokesperson for the Kia brand around the world.  As a result of this agreement, Griffin will be the only current NBA player with a global marketing relationship with an automaker. 

In his role as a global spokesperson for Kia Motors, Griffin will support Kia’s marketing programs and appear in company advertising materials, make public appearances on behalf of the brand, and participate in exclusive product promotions, social media engagements and philanthropic initiatives.

To kick off the relationship, Griffin recently visited KMA’s corporate headquarters where he had the opportunity to speak with President Ahn and check out a few concept cars at Kia Design Center America.  Griffin also received an overview of Kia’s vehicle lineup from Ralph Tjoa, manager car product planning.
